Paradigm via Xbox

The current console generation has been a big win for Xbox, with the Serial X and S condign best-sellers. According to 1 analyst, that best-seller status ways the twin consoles have sold over 12 million units.

The figure comes from Niko Partners' Daniel Ahmad, known on Twitter equally @ZhugeEX. Ahmad tweeted that Niko's estimates put the Xbox Series 10/S at over 12 meg shipped. The tweet cites the "dual strategy" of offering both versions of the panel, which has allowed for "increased production" of the S despite supply concatenation shortages. This milestone likely wouldn't have happened if the Ten were the only console on offering.

Ahmad's tweet references a Eurogamer article about Xbox Serial 10/S being Microsoft's fastest-selling panel generation. That story itself cites a New York Times interview with Phil Spencer, in which the Xbox dominate says Microsoft has "sold more of this generation of Xboxes, which is Xbox Series X and S, than any previous version." Whether that amounts to the estimated 12 million sales or not, information technology's still a win for Microsoft.

Lots of console sales lead to big software numbers besides, as evidenced by Forza Horizon 5 passing fifteen million players since launch. The racing game released on PC, Xbox Series X/Due south, and Xbox One on November iv, and while that 15-million player count is a combined number, the elevation-selling X and S surely played a function in reaching it.
